□ The Thai Immigrant Retirement Visa is a visa issued for those aged 50 or older who do not intend to work and want to stay for a period of less than one year.

□ This visa is for retired people, so you should never work and get a job in Thailand during your stay. I will explain the conditions for getting a visa in more detail below.

Eligibility to apply for a retirement visa


□ As of the date of visa application, you must be at least 50 years old, and you must not have been denied entry by the Thai immigration office. Of course, you must have no criminal history.


□ I have a residence in my home country, so I have to be able to go back after my visa expires. Also, it is possible only if there are no diseases prohibited in Thailand such as leprosy, tuberculosis, drug addiction, epithelial disease, and syphilis level 3.




Retirement visa application phase



□ There are a total of 4 steps to apply for Thai immigration retirement visa. I need to prepare the documents first. Please check the document list below and prepare it meticulously.



<Document required for retirement visa for Thai immigrants>

- More than 18 months' worth of passports and two copies of passports

- 2 visa applications (in English)

- Two personal records (inquest to the embassy)

- 2 passport photos (taken within the last 6 months)

- 2 English resumes (free form)



□ If you submit the documents, you will be issued a visa a week after excluding holidays, and you will have to pay about 5000 baht as a fee. However, the fee may change, so please contact us.



□ You must notify the Immigration Office of your residence within three months from the date of your initial arrival, and you must continue to notify it every three months even if your address does not change after that.

------------- OA visa -------------

An OA visa is intended for retirees over the age of 50, which can be issued by proving a certain level of monthly income or by depositing a certain amount of money with a Thai financial institution. The conditions for issuing an OA visa are as follows.

- If the monthly income is more than 60,000 baht (about 2.4 million won), or more than 8 million baht (about 320 million won) is deposited in a Thai bank, or both are satisfied

- If you have health insurance recognized by the Thai government

- If you don't do labor activities in Thailand

Your OA visa must be renewed every year and you must also meet the above conditions when you renew. After you get your OA visa, you can enjoy your retirement life in Thailand.


------------- O-X visa -------------

The O-X visa is similar to the OA visa, but only those with passports from certain countries can apply. The conditions for issuing the O-X visa are as follows.

- Holding passports from countries such as Japan, Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, etc

- If your monthly income is more than 100,000 baht (about 4 million won), or you deposit more than 3 million baht (about 1.2 billion won) in a Thai bank, or you are satisfied with both

- If you have health insurance recognized by the Thai government

- If you don't do labor activities in Thailand

An O-X visa is valid for up to 10 years once issued, and you do not need to renew it every year. After you get an O-X visa, you can enjoy your retirement life in Thailand.
